Everything you need to create Easy Read.

Language

Learn to use accessible language for your Easy Read audience. Our certified practising speech pathologists are specialists in literacy disabilities, and language development. By attending our training, you'll learn about common literacy difficulties for adults, and how to choose the right words to reach more readers.

Images

Get confident selecting accessible and inclusive images for your Easy Read audience. Research shows more people will understand and remember your message when images are incorporated. This interactive part of our training gives you the skills to choose accessible images for people with low literacy and disability.

Design

Discover how accessible and inclusive design can support your audience to better engage with your written communications. Our experienced trainers demonstrate how to develop an accessible layout in line with the Easy Read style. We also explore a number of helpful online tools for designing Easy Read documents.

Production and distribution

In this training, we teach participants how to produce Easy Read in-house. Once your Easy Read information is ready, it is important to publish your document in accessible places to ensure it reaches your intended audience with low English literacy. Our trainers will highlight a number of ways to successfully share your Easy Read with your target audience.

Trust experience

Our experienced trainers have been co-designing Easy Read with people with intellectual disability for many years, developing
industry best-practice Easy Read across sectors including banking, energy, essential services, healthcare, non-profit and government services. Choose Embrace Access to create truly accessible written information.

"Professional, responsive, and so skilled! Ruby was fantastic to work with. We engaged Embrace Access to create a plain language version of a mental health and wellbeing research survey for adolescents. All of our revisions were also addressed in a timely fashion. Highly recommend Ruby and Embrace Access!"
